Now more than ever we realize that change is normal and here to stay. Becoming comfortable with becoming the evolving transforming human is important. The old ways do not work. Ignoring or holding onto beliefs and fears keep you stuck and unable to take advantage of new life.
The age sixty is more like forty in our parent’s generations. We expect more of our life and plan to receive it and create it. At fifty or sixty we want to have a meaningful life. It is time to give back to the community and us.
Elder years are about becoming more spiritually awake and responsible for who we are and what we put out into the planet and with others. Focusing on staying healthy and happy and whole is important.
Being happy is one of the most important guideposts you have. If you are not happy then there is a lot to face and change in your life. Happiness affects health. If you are happy and feeling that your life is worthwhile you will be energized and your body responds and works with that energy and attention.
As humans we fight the changes that we may want the most. Letting go of the way it always was is the only way to embrace what is. Fear of failure will ensure challenging roads ahead. Focus on what the new opportunities and freedom will bring into your life will bring good results and matching support.
Life passages are full of new beginnings and endings. Marriage, children, school, career, moving, retiring all are normal and all require a complete change in many ways and areas of your life.
Today more than ever we are experiencing change at rapid rates and in places and times in our life that we do not expect to have to deal with it. Instead of fighting it we can release our attachments to the ego reasons – being angry, hurt, rejected and realize that being released from a job, relationship or location allows us to explore our heart and soul purpose and passion.
Getting out of the limited box of rules and roles we have accepted as us, allows us to explore and find out who we are and what we want to do and be for the rest of our lives.
Breathe and move inside and outside and imagine a new life. Explore through meditation, imagination, brainstorming and the Internet and other sources to find new ways of experiencing and expressing yourself.
Is there something you have always wanted to do that you never had time for? Let go of limitations and open to possibilities. Take the time to mentally explore all of your options and then take physical steps in the direction that is of interest.
If not now, when? When the doors open its time to step through and see where they take you.
